Shabodi required a way to help enterprises detect and control SIM swaps/duplicated SIMs in their network with a private NetAware AEP application that notifies an enterprise of the swap and gives them the ability to locate the swap and respond to the swap on an administrative level.
SIM Fraud – it’s something that so many people have heard about, but we never realize its devastating impacts until we’re victims of it. In the last 2 years, the FBI’s Internet Crime Report stated that over 72 million dollars has been lost by enterprises because of SIM fraud crimes. In just the last year, SIM fraud events have increased by an astounding 400%. Individuals and enterprises alike are facing increasing risks to their SIM card security every day. Two-factor authentication and one-time password methods are proving to be insufficient to adapt to the threat being faced on a global scale. The cybersecurity industry needs a new way to effectively protect against SIM-related crimes using the latest in net-aware and cloud technology.
SIM Detective is an application developed with Shabodi’s NetAware APIs which has the capability to help enterprises detect, locate, and respond to SIM swap or duplication events on any 5G network. APIs are able to help the application communicate with the network. Current solutions like authenticators and alert systems aren’t equipped with the right network awareness to be able to adapt to the different security threat levels faced by different businesses. Shabodi’s NetAware APIs can help the application communicate in real-time directly with any network, allowing for a significant level of added security on a whole other scale. With integrated cybersecurity and AWS scalability, the reliance on legacy software is drastically reduced moving towards a more cloud-based future in the digital security sector. SIM Detective constantly parses through triple-encrypted ICCID data based on network provider information; when a SWAP is detected, it will queue a notification to an authenticated user, allowing them to see the location in real time and choke the bandwidth for a suspicious SIM to prevent any network vulnerabilities.
In its current state, SIM Detective has been able to accurately detect and respond to both ICCID duplication and swaps on private networks using a minimalistic GUI which minimizes the need for heavy human-machine interactions. Using Shabodi’s Latency, Bandwidth, SIM Swap, and Location APIs, users can get real-time updates and check on the status of their ICCIDs at any time with an interactive map. We’ve used over 7000 lines of imitation ICCID code to ensure compilation time is fast and accurate and able to adapt to the needs of any enterprise.
